San Diego’s first Sonic Burger!

So if you’re anything like me, you’ve lived in San Diego a while and you watch TV. … okay well I guess “up till 2am watching cartoons on adult swim and cartoon network, piddling on the internet, and generally causing trouble”. If that’s anything near you then you’ve probably been seeing the commercials for sonic burger on tv for YEARS NOW.

I’ve always sort of griped about it – what cretin would waste money on tv commercials to air in a city that didn’t have their establishment?! I’m certainly not driving to friggin Irvine to get a burger. Hrrmph!

Lo and behold – a sonic opened in San Diego! It’s all the way out east in Santee, but there’s one coming to downtown, and another coming to vista.

… wait.. we’re gonna be surrounded.

In any case – we had a lunch flashmob event at the Santee sonic to scope the place out and try their stuff.

Not to be nit-picky (but I guess saying that means I will be), but, this isn’t the first Sonic in San Diego. I know there used to be one, years ago, in Oceanside. It’s been probably 20 years since it’s been there, though.

It’s certainly the first one in WAY TO FREAKING A LONG TIME. Glad to see the video, thanks for sharing. Can’t wait for the one in Vista to open up!
